When you’re completely new to a brand, one of the best ways to introduce yourself to their products is to pick up a palette. That’s how I fell in love with IT Cosmetics, and now PUR.
I had surprisingly never tried PUR’s makeup until recently, starting with their Love Your Selfie palette*. The kit includes a bunch of their best sellers – from eyeshadows and mascara to bronzer and blush.
This palette been around for a couple of years now, but even after the release of the new Love Your Selfie 2, it seems to still be going strong. Here are my thoughts, along with swatches and a quick look.

PUR Love Your Selfie Palette Review
Starting with eyeshadows, the PUR Love Your Selfie Palette offers a very wearable range of neutrals, along with a few deeper/more shimmery shades to take the look from day to night. The palette includes everything from your brow bone highlight, matte medium tones for the crease, shimmery shades for the lid, and two deep colors for the outer v for when you want to add some drama. The 5 matte shades are all incredibly smooth and silky in texture, while the 3 shimmery shades are slightly drier and not quite as easy to blend out (my only gripe with the shadows). The black matte is the most impressive shade in my opinion – it’s very deep and pigmented. Plus, it doubles as an eyeliner and can be used both wet or dry.
The bronzer, blush, and highlighter all feature the same silky-smooth texture as the matte shadows, which translates to a soft focus finish on the skin. The Mineral Glow Bronzing Powder is definitely on the warmer side for a bronzer (but not orangey) and contains subtle shimmer. I use it mainly to add warmth to my cheeks and forehead (though I switch to a cooler matte bronzer for contouring). The Afterglow Illuminating Powder is a very soft, pearly white-champagne that creates a super pretty, natural-looking glow without any heavy glitter or shimmer. (I could definitely see myself purchasing the full size once I hit pan in this palette!) The last cheek product – Powder Blush in Savvy – is a gorgeous medium rose/raspberry that perfectly mimics a natural flush. (Bonus: You can use the bronzer, blush, and highlighter as eyeshadows too.)
Here are swatches of all the shadows (in the same order as they appear in the Love Your Selfie Palette), as well as swatches of the bronzer, blush, and highlight to the left.
Top row shadows: Exposure, Fade, Filter, Photobomb
Bottom row shadows: Flash, Capture, Sepia, Closeup
The Big Look Mascara is my favorite find from the PUR Love Your Selfie Palette. It adds incredible length and definition, while keeping lashes feathery-light, making it perfect for natural daytime looks. (Tip: I find it works best when applied in 3-4 swipes. Anymore than that, and the formula can start to build up on the lashes, causing them to stick together and lose their separation.)
Finally, the Lip Gloss in Exposed is a semi-sheer nude-pink lip gloss with a touch of shimmer (along with a caramel-sweet scent – mmm!). It adds a little bit of color to the lips, plus it’s moisturizing and not super sticky – both huge pluses!
Wearing Powder Blush in Savvy (lightly applied) & Afterglow Illuminating Powder on cheeks, Filter e/s layered over Capture e/s on lid with Photobomb on outer 1/3, Big Look Mascara, and Lip Gloss in Exposed
Overall, if you’re looking for a versatile palette that covers all the basics and can easily transition from day to night (with the exception of maybe a bold lipstick), I definitely recommend giving the PUR Love Your Selfie Palette a try! Everything in the kit is high quality and very pigmented, with textures that create a soft focus on the skin and look amazing in all types of lighting – even in selfies. 😉
