Charming Charlie Clothing Review & Try-On

Charming Charlie review

Today I wanted to share with you my very first clothing haul from Charming Charlie, along with my thoughts and review.

If you’re not familiar with Charming Charlie, they are a jewelry and accessories brand first-and-foremost.  They have store locations worldwide, plus a clean, well-designed online store that’s super fun to explore.

What caught my eye while browsing their site was not so much their accessories, but actually their trendy and affordable clothing line, which they seem to update almost daily. (Yes, I’ve been checking it literally everyday now…I’m addicted already!)

For my first order, I decided to try out a few dresses, along with a romper and a top, in different sizes too – all of which I’ll be running through today.  So if you’re interested in seeing what I picked up, then keep reading, or watch the video below!

Charming Charlie Review & Try-On

Stacey Lace-Up Dress ($25) – First up is a basic black dress with a swing-style fit.  The material is amazingly soft and comfy, and actually feels almost suede-like.  My favorite feature is the little crisscross detailing in the back.  I grabbed this in an extra small and it fits me perfectly – it’s just a tad roomy like a swing dress should be.  I ended up keeping this one, and have been wearing it out both day and night!

Shania Medallion Dress ($22) – Next up is another flowy and super comfy swing dress. This one I got in size Small size (since for some reason it wasn’t made in an XS).  Surprisingly, it fits very close to the XS I got in the previous dress, only with a little bit of extra room in the waist area (which I’ll probably pull in with a belt when I wear it out).  The material is stiff rather than stretchy, though very soft and breezy.  I also really like the exotic/rustic print and ended up keeping it!

Serena Off-The-Shoulder Dress ($35) – I love the look of off-the-shoulder dresses, so I grabbed this black one from Charming Charlie, in both a small and XS.  The small was way too big on me, while the XS fit alright, though still a bit on the looser side.  Fit aside, with its elastic band waist and ribbed, stretchy material, this dress is super comfy – I could wear it all summer long!  In the end though, I decided to return it after the boyfriend said it looked ‘costumey’ and baggy.  If only it fit a bit tighter and had shorter sleeves, I would have been all over it!

Fab Floral Belted Dress ($35) – Next up is a pretty classic looking dress. It’s definitely more fitted than the rest and also a bit dressier.  I got it in an XS and it fits perfectly.  The material is a bit stiffer than the other dresses, though still comfortable and soft.  It also has its own unique detailing, in the form of pretty black lace in the back around the shoulders.  Overall, I ended up keeping this one!

Medallion Off-The-Shoulder Top ($25) – Next, I picked up an off-the-shoulder top in a pretty blue-on-white print. I grabbed this in the size XS and it’s perfectly. It’s very breezy and comfy, yet still manages to look somewhat tapered and flattering rather than baggy. I’m personally on the fence about this one, only because I’m not sure the colors are super flattering on me. But other than that, the fit, feel, and design are all perfection!

Ikat Cold-Shoulder Romper ($29) – Lastly, I picked up a romper in a fun Ikat print (my very first romper, actually).  I grabbed both a small and an XS, and unfortunately, neither of them fit right.  The XS fit my chest/waist/hips perfectly, but the length was too short (if I bent over, people would get a little show…eee).  Meanwhile, the small was perfect length-wise, though way too loose all around. I’m a bit bummed that this piece didn’t work out, because it’s not only comfy and cute, but also makes one effortless little outfit for summer. (Either way, I’ll definitely be trying out more rompers/playsuits from this point forward!)

Wrap-Up

Overall, if you’re looking for some fun and affordable clothing and accessories, I’d highly recommend checking out Charming Charlie.  With most pieces in the $20 to $35 range (and accessories even cheaper!), you can’t beat it.  Not to mention, just based off of my first order, everything is extremely well-made, with soft and comfortable fabrics that I could live in!  (Bonus: They often release coupon codes and also frequently run sales – you can explore the latest discounted styles on their website here!)
