Petit Vour February 2018 review (2 of 7)

February’s Petit Vour box just arrived, so today I thought I’d share all their curated picks for the month – keep reading for the full rundown!

What is Petit Vour’s beauty box?  It’s a monthly subscription that brings you 4 cruelty-free, vegan, non-toxic beauty products, in a mix of deluxe and full sizes.  You can expect to receive things like makeup, hair care, skincare and more, with formulas and shades curated to match your member profile.  The box ships worldwide and costs $18/month to the US, $23/month to Canada, and $25/month to ship everywhere else.  The total value of the products inside typically ranges from $45-60.  Learn more about the box here!

“We only showcase the crème de la cruelty-free: the best non-toxic, cruelty-free and plant-based beauty products in the industry.”

Now, without further ado, here’s a look inside the Petit Vour beauty box for February 2018…

Petit Vour February 2018 review (1 of 1)-2

The February 2018 Petit Vour beauty box opens up to a cute little card with an illustration by @athingcreated on the front – just like last month’s box.  Inside the card are details plus application tips for all the products in the box.  Below that, I uncovered two detoxifying skincare luxuries, along with two makeup essentials for achieving a simple, fresh look…

Derma e Purifying Daily Detox Scrub with Activated Charcoal review 3

Derma e Purifying Daily Detox Scrub with Activated Charcoal (Travel size, Value: $2) – Oh Derma e, how I love thee!  Their products have been gradually replacing my previous favorites (and it doesn’t hurt that they’re super affordable too!).  I’ve actually been using their Purifying Gel Cleanser from the same line as this scrub, and it has been working beautifully.  It detoxes while you cleanse, yet is surprisingly non-drying.  Although this detox scrub introduces apricot seed powder and other larger exfoliating bits into the mix, it feels equally gentle and non-drying.  In fact, you can use it daily, which I plan to do until this little sample runs out!

Zabana Essentials Tamanu Calendula Healing Anti-Blemish Face Balm review 4

Zabana Essentials Tamanu Calendula Healing Anti-Blemish Face Balm (Deluxe size, Value: $15) – I’ve always wanted to try out something from Zabana – they have so many products that literally look like skin food, and I can only imagine that they smell amazing too.  Following suit with the Derma e scrub, this face balm works to purify the pores and refresh the skin, combating acne, redness, scars, dermatitis while also reducing lines and wrinkles.  As expected, it smells like an herbal spa treatment in a jar, and envelopes the skin in a surprisingly lightweight, dewy layer of hydration, making it the perfect nighttime moisturizer that leads to clearer, more radiant skin come morning.

Elate Cosmetics Creme Revealer in Fawn review 6

Elate Cosmetics Creme Revealer in Fawn (Deluxe size, Value: $12) – This is the second time I’ve come across Elate Cosmetics in a clean beauty sub box.  The first time was back in December’s Goodbeing box, where I received their Universal Creme Highlight (which I’m still loving!).  This concealer is equally as hydrating and smooth-textured, and provides natural-looking light to medium coverage.  It actually reminds me a lot of RMS Beauty’s Un-Cover – they are both oil-rich in texture and leave the skin looking slightly dewy.  RMS Beauty’s, however, is slightly more pigmented.  Nevertheless, I’ll definitely be using this on my ‘good skin days’, applied just where I need it, and then set with a little powder.  (Shades will vary based on member profile.)

Red Apple Lipstick Lip Liner in Dusty Rose review 9

Red Apple Lipstick Lip Liner in Dusty Rose (Full size, Value: $23)Red Apple Lipstick is one of my favorite clean beauty brands.  (You can check out a few of my reviews of their lipsticks and eye shadow here.)  While I reach for their lipsticks almost everyday, I had never before tried their lip liners – they just aren’t something I use on a regular basis.  The good news is that even if you don’t use liners, these pencils can be used to fill in the entire lip, so they double as lipstick in a way (and a long-lasting one too – this one is waterproof!).  I received the shade Dusty Rose, which is a medium rose-mauve that works well with (and is also very similar to) some of my favorite RAL shades, including Audrey, Maven Mauve, and Mabel. (Shades will vary based on member profile.)
