Welcome to day 3 of my ‘4 Days of Josie’ series. So far, I reviewed Josie Maran’s Black Oil mascara and her Argan Oil Light. Today, we’re going to review the Josie Maran Protect + Perfect Argan Daily Moisturizer, another beauty product that is rich in skin-loving Argan Oil.
Josie Maran Argan Daily Moisturizer SPF 47 Protect + Perfect
What It Does
According to Sephora, the Josie Maran Argan Daily Moisturizer SPF 47 Protect + Perfect is “an argan-infused, chemical-free sunscreen that offers a thin veil of protection with a slight tint to add warmth and radiance to skin.” It’s formulated to add a warm glow to the complexion, correct dullness, and awaken lackluster skin, all while providing a nice amount of coverage. Protect + Perfect is also nourishing and hydrating thanks to Josie’s 100% Pure Argan Oil, along with green tea. The universal shade suits most skin tones, and the natural SPF 47 sun protection with innovative SunBoost ATB helps keep skin safe from sun damage.
How to Apply
You can use whatever you prefer to apply this moisturizer – fingers or a brush both work well. Here are some tips for applying the Argan Daily Moisturizer, as listed on Sephora’s website:
- For the perfect kiss of coverage, use only one to three pumps.
- Warm product in hands before applying and blend thoroughly into skin.
- Use alone or as a makeup primer to prep, correct, and protect skin.
For reference, this is what the shade looks like on light-medium skin (I’m about NC25-27 for reference). The next photo shows what the Protect + Perfect looks like after it’s blended in. You can see it has a very dewy finish!
Josie Maran Argan Daily Moisturizer SPF 47 Protect + Perfect Review
I’ve used Josie Maran’s regular daily moisturizer (that has no tint), and have to say, I’m liking this one a lot better! It’s sort of a 3-in-1 solution with the SPF, moisturizer, along with the light coverage.
It’s so easy to apply using just your fingers because of its creamy formula. It also feels exceptionally moisturizing (I tried it without using a moisturizer beforehand, and felt that it provided plenty of hydration on its own).
The Josie Maran Protect + Perfect Argan Daily Moisturizer gives you a surprising amount of coverage for a moisturizer, and adds a very glowy effect to the skin. I do however find that it can look a bit too shiny, so I’ll typically apply a light powder over my face to set it and create a more satiny/matte effect.
The shade can look quite peachy at first. Personally, I wasn’t sure if it would work for me (I have some yellow in my skin), but I found the color blended in very well, and seemed to ‘adjust’ to my skin-tone.
Here’s a photo of me wearing the Josie Maran Protect + Perfect moisturizer on its own. As you can see, it creates a really pretty, natural-looking glow on the skin.
Though the Josie Maran Protect + Perfect Argan Daily Moisturizer doesn’t provide enough coverage to cover red spots and blemishes, it does surprisingly lighten and brighten the skin, especially under the eyes, so that you don’t really need to use concealer in those areas.
Final Wrap Up
Overall, this tinted moisturizer has become my go-to makeup base for its 3-in-1 benefits and quick application. I recommend it to anyone looking for a nice base or light-coverage makeup that contains some extra skin-loving ingredients!
