If you’ve been to Sephora recently, you may have noticed a relatively new addition to their stores – Farmacy.  Their luxurious skincare line features farm-grown botanicals combined with advanced technologies, which bring us amazingly gentle yet effective formulas.  After falling in love with the balancing and toning effects of their Invincible Serum, I was anxious to try more from their skincare line.  Today, I wanted to share my review of the Farmacy Skin Dew, one of the most unique and multi-tasking facial mists I’ve tried to date.

Farmacy Skin Dew Hydrating Essence Mist & Setting Spray

What is Farmacy Skin Dew?  It’s a multi-tasking facial spray formulated to give your skin an instant moisture burst.  On top of re-hydrating, it also works to soothe, tone, and protect, all while indulging your senses in its refreshing aroma.

Farmacy Skin Dew can be used on bare skin, moisturized skin, and even over top of makeup as a setting spray.  It also works as a makeup refresher throughout the day, to add some dewiness and hydration back into a dry or tired complexion.

Farmacy Skin Dew Review

I’m a huge fan of facial sprays. I’m constantly reaching for them both pre- and post-makeup.  Out of all the brands and types I’ve tried, Farmacy’s Skin Dew definitely stands out as the most hydrating facial spray.  I can often get away with using it in place of a moisturizer, especially during the summer when my skin isn’t quite as dry and ‘needy’ in terms of hydration.

Because Skin Dew is a heavier spray (rather than a fine mist), it only takes a couple of spritzes to get the skin feeling and looking refreshed.  I like to do three total – one on the forehead, one on the cheeks/chin, and one on the neck.  Between its cooling moisture-rich formula and bright, energizing scent, it makes a real treat for the skin and the senses.  It feels especially amazing in the morning on bare skin, after exercising, or after a day out in the summer.

You do however have to be very careful while spritzing the Skin Dew over makeup, since it comes out pretty heavy.  You can easily ‘drench’ your face by accident, potentially messing up your foundation and/or eye makeup.  To prevent this, I suggest experimenting a bit, holding the nozzle at different distances from your face to find one that works without over spraying.

Once the Farmacy Skin Dew sets, it gives the skin a very glowy look.  For that reason, I wouldn’t recommend it as a setting spray over matte foundation (that is, if you want to keep it looking matte).  However, if you want to amp up the dewiness, then Skin Dew works perfectly.  That’s actually what I use it for – I spritz it all over my loose powder mineral foundation to add back a natural glow that powder can sometimes take away.  (Skin Dew also helps the loose powder adhere to my skin, so for me, it has two benefits in one, as a setting spray.)

Final Thoughts

Overall, between the skin-loving ingredients, cooling sensation, and refreshing scent, the Farmacy Skin Dew Essence Mist & Setting Spray is a worthy addition to anyone’s makeup or skincare routine, especially during the hot and drying Summer months.  Just remember to go easy when applying it over makeup!

Farmacy Skin Dew is available at Sephora for $44.
