Birchbox October 2015 Unboxing & Review

October 2015 Birchbox

Since October is Breast Cancer Awareness, Birchbox created a pink ‘Positive Force’ themed box that’s all about using the power of beauty to raise money and awareness for an important cause.  They’ve partnered with The Estée Lauder Companies’ Breast Cancer Awareness (BCA) Campaign to support the Breast Cancer Research Foundation (BCRF) – the nation’s highest-rated breast cancer organization – and are donating $104,000 to BCRF to fund one year of breast cancer lab research hours!  That’s amazing! 🙂

So here’s the rundown on all the beauty products in my October 2015 Birchbox:

Birchbox October 2015

In total, my October 2015 Birchbox included five fairly generous-sized samples in the skincare, makeup, and haircare departments.  Here are the products I received, along with my initial impressions of each:

Birchbox Goodies!

Vasanti® BrightenUp! Enzymatic Face Rejuvenator – (Full size: $34.00, Value of sample: $5.67) – I fell in love with this scrub after just the first use.  It’s extremely gentle, yet very effective, and leaves my skin feeling so smooth.  I also noticed a difference in the overall appearance of my skin the next morning – it looked brighter and more even!

BioRepublic Skincare Green Tea Detox Purifying Fiber Mask– (Full size: $14.50 for pack of 3, Value of sample: $4.83) –  I haven’t tried this out yet, but I’m soo looking forward to it!  It’s a one-time use mask that’s infused with green tea extract and plant collagen to give your skin a boost of healing antioxidants, plus it removes excess sebum.  (I can’t get enough of these paper/fiber masks in general – they’re perfect for a little pampering, ‘me-time’!)

Amika Perk Up Dry Shampoo

amika Perk Up Dry Shampoo – (Full size: $22, Value of sample: $3.14) This is probably the best dry shampoo I’ve tried to date!  It’s so lightweight, and doesn’t leave residue on your hair.  There’s no need to spray a ton on either – just a few quick bursts really help to absorb those oilies.

Model Co Ultra Long-Lasting Lipstick & W3ll People Expressionist Mascara

W3LL PEOPLE Expressionist Mascara – (Full size: $23.50, Value of sample: $14.30) – I was so excited to finally get a chance to try out something from W3ll People – I love how their makeup is all-natural and have heard so many good things about their products.  Unfortunately, I wasn’t too crazy about this mascara.  It adds a lot of length, but also makes my lashes clump together – not the best look!

ModelCo Ultra Long-Lasting Lipstick Trio – (Full size: $20 for pack of 3, Value of sample: $6.67) – Unfortunately, my lipstick broke on it’s journey through the mail, but luckily it was still usable!  As to the formula – it’s amazingly long-lasting and sort of stains your lips a bit, so even if you wipe it off, some color still remains.  The color I received in ‘Smitten’ is also really pretty and perfect for Fall!  Here’s a swatch:

As you can probably tell, I was super excited about all the products in my October 2015 Birchbox.  The value of everything combined far exceeded the $10 price of the box (by over 3 times!), and I’m definitely going to get a lot of use out of these samples!
