Fall is on its way and what better way to welcome it than with a festive nail look?  To celebrate the change in seasons, I’m sharing a super quick and easy diagonal french manicure using on-trend shades for Fall from Sally Beauty’s Sizzling Sunset collection!

Typically around this time of year, I’ll take a trip to Sally Beauty to pick up my favorite hair color (I like to go a little darker for Fall and Winter). 🙂  During my most recent trip, I also grabbed a few items from Sally Beauty’s Fall Color Sale, including two polishes and a top coat – both of which fit the Fall mood perfectly.

I ended up putting together a little mani look using both shades, taking inspiration from the gorgeous red and orange colors of the changing leaves this time of year. To further mix things up, I went for a diagonal french manicure – the perfect modern-minimalist look.  (Which, by the way, happens to be super simple, and takes almost no time to apply!) Here’s how to get to the look.

Step 1: Apply Your Lighter Color

To start, I applied one coat of China Glaze “Jamacian Out” (a shimmery orange red) in a triangular shape. I took my brush and painted on a coat from the middle side of the nail, and angled it up to the very bottom of the nail whites. Then I filled in the rest of the tip area. (Tip: ‘Rolling’ your finger while resting the brush on your nail makes for an easier and much straighter line!). What’s great about this polish is that it provides amazing, nearly opaque coverage with just one coat. I actually didn’t feel the need to go over it a second time, and instead quickly moved to the next color once it dried.

Step 2: Apply Your Darker Color

The next color I used is Bitzy “Main Stage” (the perfect bright, cherry red). Again, this one goes on nearly opaque with one coat, and with the “Jamacian Out” underneath that’s all you need.  Now, I know applying sideways can be a bit tricky at first, but fortunately these polishes provide a super smooth application so you don’t have to worry about streaking/uneven coverage.

Step 3: Apply a Top Coat

Finally, to seal in the look, I applied the Finger Paints Top Coat. This top coat dries super fast and really helps strengthen the manicure (which is important with this look, especially since all the focus is on the tips). The top coat also helps smooth everything out and provides an even transition through each layer.

Then you’re all done!  Because everything sets so quickly (the polishes and top coat), they make for a great combo if you’re like me and want to do a fast and fool-proof mani.  On top of that, this look is incredibly easy to do (no tape needed!), and it literally only takes about 3-4 minutes to achieve the final look!
