MAKE Beauty | Minimal, Modern Makeup With a Whimsical Touch

MAKE believes there are no rules when it comes to beauty.  Their philosophy is that it’s all about experimentation, and using makeup as an art form for self-expression, in a romantic and almost quirky sense.  Whether you seek natural looks, or ones with hints of drama, their makeup line provides all the essentials to help you create whatever look inspires you.

Their whimsical and edgy collections offer a wide range of fun and unique textures, finishes, and colors to play with – from dewy, illuminating creams and face glosses in their ‘Aether’ collection, to rich, molten metallic shadows in their ‘New Medieval’ collection.

MAKE’s products are versatile too – you can wear them wet or dry, alone or layered, built up for intense drama or toned down for a subtle look – you basically get to be the artist!

And the cherry on top?  MAKE’s products are all paraben-free and cruelty-free, plus 10% of their sales go toward the We See Beauty Foundation.

Today we’re going to take a look into three of my current favorites from MAKE – their Silk Cream Lipsticks, Matte Finish Eyeshadows, and Skin Illuminators.

“MAKE believes there are no beauty rules. That each individual is driven by an artistic approach to their own personal reality. That it’s beautiful to be inspired by your imagination. To embrace a whimsical approach to life.”- MAKE

MAKE Matte Finish Eyeshadows

The Matte Finish Eyeshadows by MAKE are highly pigmented, buildable shadows that come in a wide range of shades – from bright oranges and yellows, to icy blues and whites.  Their velvety smooth, oil-free formula makes applying and blending a breeze, even using just your fingers.  Combined with a matte finish, these shadows create a silky layer of color that stays put throughout the day (making them especially great for those of us with oily lids!).  Formulated with Vitamins C and E, these shadows also help to provide antioxidant protection for the eye area. Apply them dry for a softer look, or wet for a more intense finish.  Other textures include Satin Matte and Glitter.  (Available on Makebeauty.com for $25.)

MAKE Skin Illuminators

The MAKE Skin Illuminators are cream-based highlighters that provide an instant glow to the skin using light-diffusing pigments. They come packaged in an easy-to-use brush-on pen, great for targeting spots like your nose, brow bone area, and tops of the cheeks.  Formulated with green tea and ginseng extracts, their illuminators help to provide anti-oxidant protection, while portulaca oleracea soothes and nourishes skin.  (Available in 4 shades on Makebeauty.com, for $34 each.)

MAKE Silk Cream Lipsticks

The MAKE Silk Cream Lipsticks offer medium to full coverage color, depending on how you build it up.  Formulated with vitamins, aloe and chamomile extracts, plus hydrating oils, these lipsticks double as a moisturizing treatment for your lips.  The end result is a product that feels a lot like lip balm, only with amazing color payoff.  These lipsticks maintain their oh-so-silky smooth texture and color through several hours of wear.  Like a majority of MAKE’s products, they are versatile too and can be built up more or less depending on the coverage you want.  And with 19 shades available, there are plenty of options to choose from!  They have everything from vibrant reds and purples, to muted roses and nudes.  (Available on Makebeauty.com for $25.)
