Laura Geller INKcredible Waterproof Gel Eyeliner Pencil Review

I’m fairly new to Laura Geller makeup (hadn’t tried anything from her previously), so I was excited to get a full size version of her INKcredible Waterproof Gel Eyeliner Pencil in a recent Glossybox.  Out of all her products, I thought the eyeliner was a great place to start out to help me gauge the quality that I might expect from the rest of her product line.

What it Does

According to the Laura Geller website, their INKcredible Waterproof Gel Eyeliner Pencil covers all the benefits you’d ever want from an eyeliner (which we’ll test out later):

  • Precision tip allows for even application.
  • Highly pigmented formula stays vibrant all day
  • Super soft means no pulling or skipping during application
  • Waterproof and transfer proof mean color won’t run or smudge

Colors Available

If your prefer an intense black liner, or want to experiment with some fun colors, the Laura Geller INKcredible Waterproof Gel Eyeliner Pencil comes in 10 different colors.  After Midnight is the black shade, and the rest range from purples to blues to greens.  Here’s the full list of shades available, along with their descriptions:

INKcredible Waterproof Gel Eyeliner Pencil Review

The Laura Geller Inkcredible Waterproof Gel Eyeliner shade I’m testing out here is called ‘Brown Eyed Girl’.  It is a rich dark brown with some silver shimmer and (if you look real closely) some slightly finer copper-toned glitter.

In terms of the application, it doesn’t take much pressure or effort to get a decent color payoff.  Because it’s a gel, it glides on the skin very smoothly, and doesn’t tug or pull the skin around the eyes. However, I did find that I needed to layer around 3-4 swipes over the same area to achieve the intensity that I wanted (1-2 swipes gave me a more sheer wash of color).

One thing I do really like about the Laura Geller INKcredible eyeliner pencil is how it applies evenly (there are no missed spots or areas where it ‘skips’, like I’ve experienced with harder, non-gel eyeliner pencils.)   The final result is a smooth, even line.

And now one thing I wasn’t too crazy about – the glitter.  I found that it would often times creep its way outside of the line and wander around the eye lid.  But if you’re already wearing a shimmery eye shadow, it don’t think it will be too much of an issue. (I didn’t notice any glitter under my eye, everything stayed above thankfully!)

Is the Laura Geller Inkcredible Eyeliner really waterproof?  To an extent.  If you splash your face with water or even go for a swim, it will stay put.  However, the second you rub the eyeliner while it’s wet, it will start to come off.  Also, rubbing it with force even when it’s not wet will take off the product.  Realistically speaking though (and based on how most people treat their eyes/eyeliner during everyday wear), the eyeliner will stay put after exposure to water while keeping touching to a minimum.

Where to Buy

The Laura Geller Inkcredible Waterproof Gel Eyeliner Pencil is available at Nordstrom, and on Laura Geller’s website.  It retails for $20.00, which I think it a decent price considering you don’t have to use that much product when you apply it (even if you do need to apply a few extra swipes, it doesn’t eat away the product as much as it would with a pencil liner).  Plus you don’t have to sharpen it, so you won’t be losing product that way either.
