I’m back again today with another haircare review! After experimenting with the Keranique Scalp Stimulating Shampoo for a few weeks and ending up with a very dry scalp, I decided to continue my search for a more moisturizing shampoo. Which brings me to my latest discovery – the HASK Macadamia Oil Moisturizing Hair Care line. The words ‘hydrate’, ‘moisturizing’ and ‘oil’ on the bottle immediately captured my attention, and I was lucky enough to get to try out the full set. But before we get into my full review and experience using the HASK Macadamia Oil line, let’s first explore a little bit about the brand and their full product range (they have something for every hair type!).
HASK offers a wide range of hair care products that feature exotic oils from around the world. In their Exotic Oil line, HASK uses high quality ingredients to form deliciously scented, high-performance formulas that are designed to treat and repair all types of hair. Their products range from shampoos, conditioners, deep conditioners and shine oils, and all of them use key ingredients and oils such as Argan Oil, Macadamia Oil, Monoi Coconut Oil, Almond Oil, and Keratin Protein. The best part? HASK’s products are very affordable (prices range from around $2 for the shine vials, and around $6 for the shampoo and conditioners).
The HASK Macadamia Oil Moisturizing Hair Care Set
Like most of the Exotic Oil sets, the HASK Macadamia Oil set comes with four products, including the Macadamia Oil Shampoo, Macadamia Oil Conditioner, Macadamia Oil Deep Conditioner, and Macadamia Shine Oil Treatment. Each is infused with Macadamia Oil, a super-hydrating oil that hydrates and protects your hair, making it perfect for those with dry, damaged or color-treated hair. The oil is also abundant in antioxidants, nutrients, and essential fatty acids to help keep hair soft and shiny.
Right off the bat, I have to say the entire set smells amazing – it’s right up there with the cult-favorite Beauty Protector hair care products. All the products – from the shampoo to the oil treatment – smell warm and delicious, with a vanilla nut gourmand scent that lingers on the hair for a couple of hours (though I wish it lasted all day!). Keep on reading for my review of each product from the HASK Macadamia Oil Moisturizing Hair Care Collection.
HASK Macadamia Oil Moisturizing Shampoo
The HASK Macadamia Oil Shampoo claims to gently cleanse while adding moisture at the same time. It definitely does provide a good cleanse – it removes all the oil and product buildup – plus it lathers up extremely well. I could tell it restored moisture back into my hair by the way it felt after I rinsed it out – it felt smooth and silky like what you’d expect after applying conditioner. Unfortunately, my scalp still came out very dry, which seems to always be the case when I use a shampoo with a rich foamy lather (maybe I should just stick with Wen products for cleansing my scalp, which don’t lather at all…).
HASK Macadamia Oil Moisturizing Conditioner
The HASK Macadamia Oil Conditioner in this line is super hydrating and adds extra moisture to my hair on top of the shampoo. I let the conditioner sit on both my hair and scalp for a good 3 minutes so it could sink in before rinsing off. While brushing through my hair afterwards, I had absolutely no trouble with tangles – my comb just glided straight through my hair, with no breakage.
HASK Macadamia Oil Hydrating Deep Conditioning Hair Treatment
The HASK Macadamia Oil Hydrating Deep Conditioning Hair Treatment comes in the form of an ultra-restorative, moisturizing formula that ‘rejuvenates dry, damaged, chemically treated or over processed hair’. Because of how hydrating the shampoo and conditioner are on their own, I haven’t felt the need to use the Deep Conditioner quite yet. I plan on holding onto this for real damage control (like after an intense day of straightening/styling).
HASK Macadamia Revitalizing Shine Hair Treatment
I always use hair oil after washing, and this HASK Macadamia Revitalizing Shine Hair Treatment is amazing. What I like most about it is 1) compared to others I’ve tried, this one is so lightweight and easy to distribute through your hair, and 2) it’s super affordable ($1.99 for a nice sized vial which will last me about 20 uses – and I have pretty long hair). This oil also instantly absorbs and leaves hair feeling super smooth. If you suffer from tangles after washing, and the conditioner wasn’t enough to tame them, this definitely will! I love that it doesn’t weigh down my hair either (even if you use more than what’s recommended, which I’m often guilty of).
Overall, I’m really enjoying the HASK Macadamia Oil Moisturizing hair care line. In addition to the amazing vanilla cake-like fragrance, the shampoo, conditioner, and oil really do a great job of restoring moisture back into your hair. The end result is soft, silky, smooth hair that feels lightweight and airy. The best part is that it if you use heated styling tools like a blow dryer, straightener, or curlers, these products really seem to lock in moisture to prevent frizziness and dryness. You can find HASK’s hair care products at Ulta, Walgreens, Target, and Amazon.
