Goodbeing November 2017 Review & Unboxing

Goodbeing November 2017 Review & Unboxing

Today I’m sharing a non-toxic beauty box that’s been on my radar for some time now – Goodbeing.  If this is your first time hearing about them, here are the deets on how their subscription service works…

Goodbeing is a monthly subscription service that brings you 4-5 healthy, non-toxic beauty and personal care products, along with natural & organic health and wellness products.  Products can either be full-size, travel, and/or deluxe sizes.  And probably the best part is that they’re all personalized to your member profile.

Speaking of which, out of all the beauty subscription boxes I’ve tried, GoodBeing has one of the most thorough and detailed member profiles.  When you first sign up (or anytime you want to update it), they’ll have you fill out a survey that covers your product preferences and unique skin/hair concerns.  That way, they can match you with products you’re most likely to enjoy.  Goodbeing also gives you the option to choose 1-2 items for your box from a selection of products each month!

There are two box variations available – ‘Beauty(which includes all beauty products), andLifestyle(which includes a mix of beauty and lifestyle products, like supplements, super foods, aromatherapy, non-toxic home goods, and more).  You can always switch between the two and try out a different box type each month.

Goodbeing costs $24.95 per month (US), and $33.95 per month for shipment to Canada, England, Scotland, Ireland, Australia and New Zealand.  The average value of each box is around $40-$50. (Goodbeing also offers a Mini box for $9.95 U.S./$15.95 international, which includes 2 items per month.  Average value is $15-$20 per box.  The option to pick products is not available for this box.)

Now, without further ado, let’s take a look at my personalized Goodbeing box for November 2017…

Goodbeing November 2017 Review & Unboxing

This month, I received the ‘Lifestyle‘ box, which included a mix of beauty (4 total) and lifestyle (1 total) products.  Here’s the full rundown of all the items along with my mini review of each…

Au Naturale Créme De La Creme in Camo

Au Naturale Créme De La Creme in Camo swatch

Au Naturale Créme De La Creme in Camo (Value: $18.00)This sample comes from one of my favorite natural, ethical, vegan beauty brands, Au Naturale.  I’ve tried their cream highlighters and lipsticks, but never before their eyeshadows, so I was excited to get this sample – and a generous one at that.  At 3g, it comes pretty close to their full-size sticks, which weigh in at 4g.  The texture is creamy and easy to apply using just the fingers.  One layer provides a sheer wash of color, and two provides semi-opaque coverage.  I did experience quite a bit of creasing (which is typical of most cream shadows, especially naturally-formula ones), so a primer is a must.  I received the shade ‘Camo’ which is a deep forest green; both shimmer and glitter free.

Ingredients: Limnanthes Alba (Meadowfoam Seed Oil), Caprylic/Capric Triglyceride, Ricinus Communis (Castor Seed Oil), Euphorbia Cerifera (Candelilla Wax), Organic Simmondsia Chinensis (Jojoba Seed Oil), Organic Lavandula Officinalis (Lavender) Oil, Manihot Esculenta (Tapioca Root Starch), Titanium Dioxide, Iron Oxides, Micas, Silica.

Poethique Radiance Boosting Serum review

Poethique Radiance Boosting Serum (Value: $27.50) – Poéthique is a completely new beauty brand to me, and I’m already falling in love with their products!  Like all their skincare products, this serum is 100% plant-based and uses unique ingredients sustainably sourced from diverse regions. It’s formulated to brighten and add radiance to the skin using caviar limes and three varieties of wild plums sourced from the rainforests of Australia.  The formula is ultra-lightweight, and my skin drinks it up within seconds, leaving behind supple, glowing skin. Though not hydrating enough to use on its own in the winter, it can be used as a stand-alone moisturizer in the warmer, more humid months of spring and summer.

Ingredients: Water/Aqua, Vegetable Glycerin*, Avena Sativa (Oat) Kernel Extract*, Microcitrus Australasica Fruit Extract*, Terminalia Ferdinandiana (Wild Plum species) Fruit Extract*, Podocarpus Elatus Fruit (Wild Plum species) Extract*, Pleiogynium Timorense (Wild Plum species) Fruit Extract*, Lysolecithin*, Sclerotium Gum*, Xanthan Gum+, Pullulan*, Sodium Phytate*, Glyceryl Caprylate*, Sodium Levulinate+, Sodium Anisate+, Lonicera Caprifolium (Honeysuckle) Flower Extract*, Lonicera Japonica (Honeysuckle) Flower Extract*, Citric Acid*, Alcohol Denat., Natural Fragrance*. * Plant-origin

K Voss Nourish MagiK Shimmer Body Lotion review

K Voss Nourish MagiK Shimmer Body Lotion (Value: $28.00) – Kristin Voss’s products feature only 100% natural and organic ingredients. The ingredients lists are simple and minimal too – this rich, creamy body lotion for example contains only 7 ingredients, all listed below.  The mixed micas is actually in form of 24k gold micro-shimmer, which looks especially pretty on the legs and shoulders.  The lotion also has a (fairly strong) sandalwood rose scent that lingers for several hours – I quite like it. 🙂  The jar may look a bit small, but it’s actually the full size version of her Magik Shimmer.  I expect it to last me a good 1-2 months.

Ingredients: Avocado butter, grapeseed oil, shea butter, mixed micas, bio-mulsion wax, distilled water + sandalwood rose essential oil

Airbiotics Travel Set review

Airbiotics Travel Set (Stabiotic Mist To Go & Probiotic Hand Cleaner) + 5 mL All Purpose Cleaner Concentrate (Value: $20.64)Over the past year or so, I introduced probiotics into my diet and skincare routine, but these products introduced a entirely new concept to me – bringing probiotics into my living spaces.  These all-natural, eco-friendly cleaners work by ‘deploying safe, environmental stabilizing probiotic protection against harmful indoor contaminants and allergens that can flourish indoors’, and helping to restore the natural balance of your home’s ecosystem to create a healthy indoor environment.  The little set I received includes the Probiotic Hand Cleaner, Stabiotic Mist Home Spray (which I plan to use all over my couch and bed!), and the All Purpose Cleaner Concentrate for cleansing surfaces without the use of harsh chemicals or artificial scents.

Ingredients:

  • Probiotic Hand Cleaner: Purified Water, Proprietary Stabilized Non-GMO Beneficial Probiotics
  • Stabiotic Mist: Purified Water, Proprietary Stabilized Non-GMO Beneficial Probiotics
  • All Purpose Cleaner: Purified Water, Proprietary Stabilized Non-GMO Beneficial Probiotics, Surfactants and Enzymes

WooBamboo Adult Standard Toothbrush review

WooBamboo Adult Standard Toothbrush (Value: $3.95) – Until now, it never crossed my mind to use a toothbrush made of bamboo, or any other alternative to plastic for that matter.  However, after learning that billions of toothbrushes end up in the world’s oceans and landfills every year, I may be permanently making the switch to a natural, biodegradable toothbrush myself.  And I’m really liking this one from WooBambo – it leaves my teeth feeling super clean.  The bristles aren’t super soft nor firm – they’re the perfect in-between – plus the slightly curved shape of the brush head helps me to reach around/behind the teeth.

Wrap-Up

Overall, I’m super impressed with all the picks in my Goodbeing box this month.  The products I received all perfectly aligned with my beauty profile – from the shade they choose for me for the Au Naturale eyeshadow, to the extra hydrating body care and lightweight skincare for my combination skin.  And for the two lifestyle products, I would have never thought to use them before, but am so happy to have discovered them!
