The Goodbeing Clean Beauty Box: November 2018 Review

“You’re only given a little spark of madness. You mustn’t lose it.” – Robin Williams

First off, I have to say I’m loving the featured quote in this month’s Goodbeing box!  😉  I’m also equally loving all the products inside.  But before we get into the full unboxing, here’s a quick rundown on how the Goodbeing box works…

Goodbeing is a beauty & wellness subscription service that helps you discover cleaner, safer, and more naturally formulated products.  The service also offers an impressive amount of personalization compared to other non-toxic beauty/lifestyle boxes.  For $24.95/month (+ shipping for some countries outside the US), they send you 4-5 items ranging from trial to full sizes, 1-2 of which you get to choose.  The rest is handpicked by the Goodbeing team, taking cues from your member profile when it comes to things like skin type, style, product preferences, and more.  If you’re curious what types of products and brands they feature, have a look at some of my previous boxes here!

For November, I opted for their beauty box (as opposed to their lifestyle box). Inside were two of my own product picks (which I’ve marked with a little * below), along with three selected by the Goodbeing team. Here’s a look inside…

Curandera Remedies Amber Body Oil Potion (Deluxe size, Value: $3.75) – My skin gets so dry in the winter, but one thing that really helps to lock in moisture is body oil – I’ll slather it on right after my shower or bath while my skin is still damp.  I’m really loving this subtly scented, all-natural formula – it came just in time!  It’s fast-absorbing and smells amazing – so warm, comforting, earthy, and exotic.  It can also be used directly in the bath or as a hair oil to smooth locks and add a subtle, lingering scent.

Juice Beauty Green Apple Cleansing Bar (Travel size, Value: $3) – I received a sample of this in a past Petit Vour box, but similar to the scrub above, I’m more than happy to get another one.  I love the the bar’s fresh, citrus-y scent and the fact that it contains real organic apple, grape, and lemon juices.  Once you lather it up, it hydrates and soothes skin using organic cold-pressed extra virgin olive and coconut oils, organic aloe, and Vitamin E.  I can’t seem to find the full-size bar on Juice Beauty’s website, so I have a feeling they may be discontinuing it and replacing it with their Ylang Ylang Spa cleansing bar (which sounds equally as luxurious!).

*Previse Marine Granules Skin Brightening Botanical Scrub (Deluxe size, Value: $11.25)I received a sample of this back in my January box, but loved it so much that I decided to grab another sample.  It’s seriously one of the best facial scrubs I’ve ever tried.  It exfoliates using two natural, biodegradable ingredients – jojoba botanical extracts and fossilized algae – which are extremely gentle and non-damaging, yet super effective at removing dead skin. It’s also fragrance-free and crafted specifically those with sensitive skin.

*Clove + Hallow Lip Velvet (Full size, Value: $18) Clove + Hallow is an relatively new clean beauty brand that kicked off their collection with a range of lips products, including lipsticks, glosses, and these matte liquid lippies.  I don’t typically reach for liquid lipsticks as they tend to require quite a bit of maintenance and often dry out my lips.  These, however, are different.  They have a super smooth, mousse-like consistency that feels cushiony and lightweight on the lips. Once set, they don’t crack as the day goes on.  They’re also super pigmented, smudge-proof, and transfer-proof!  I already had Uptown in my collection, so I opted for Sugarbear with this box – they’re both gorgeous deep shades for the fall/winter months!

Orglamix Mineral Eyeshadow (Full-size, Value: $12) Lastly, we have a loose, shimmery powder that can be used as an eyeshadow or eyeshadow topper.  It’s made up of mostly mica, so it doesn’t offer the best adhesion applied on its own.  However, applied over a little eyeshadow primer, the color really pops and lasts all day.  Patchouli (which I believe is the shade all subscribers received this month) is a gorgeous purple-grey-taupe combo that I imagine would complement all eye colors and skin tones.  It’s personally one of my favorite shades for everyday as it adds depth and polish, but is also very natural-looking and office-friendly.
