The Goodbeing Non-Toxic Beauty Box: August 2018 Review & Unboxing

goodbeing august 2018 beauty box review 02

“The one way to get me to work my hardest was to doubt me.” – Michelle Obama

I have another amazing Goodbeing box to share with you guys today! If you’re new to Goodbeing, you can find out more about their personalized natural beauty & wellness subscription service here.  As a quick summary, for $24.95/month (+ shipping for some countries outside the US), you’ll receive 4-5 personalized items in your monthly box, 1-2 of which you get to choose during their ‘product pick’ window!  If you’re curious what types of products and brands they feature, have a look at some of my previous boxes here!

For August, I opted for another beauty box (as opposed to their lifestyle box). Inside were two of my own product picks (which I’ve marked with a little * below), along with three chosen by the Goodbeing team based on a very in-depth member profile. Here’s a look at everything inside my personalized box for this month…

RUTZ Naturals In Your Face review 4

RUTZ Naturals In Your Face (Full size, Value: $28) – A girl can’t have too many face mists!  This one is unique in that it contains natural, 95% organic ingredients, including structured electrolyzed water, colloidal silver, exfoliating acids & enzymes (including AHA), minerals, and healing & calming essential oils.  Combined, the blend helps tone the skin, inhibit bacterial growth, fight acne, control oil, reduce inflammation & irritation, speed up cellular turnover, and increase the absorption of serums & moisturizers.  Plus it doubles as a makeup setting spray and refresher!

Pacifica Hot Vegan Probiotic & Spice Rehab Mask review 007

*Pacifica Hot Vegan Probiotic & Spice Rehab Mask (Full size, Value: $15) – I’m always up for trying out new skincare from Pacifica.  They have a ton of fun masks, and this one in particular piqued my interest so I snagged it during the ‘product pick’ window.  The name and ingredients caught my attention – it’s a gel-based mask that contains a blend of spices including black pepper and ginger, plus probiotics, white willow bark and coconut water.  Together, they help de-stress, stimulate, and clarify congestion, which is exactly what my skin has been needing recently!  It’s gentle enough to use one a day too.  I plan to try this out over the weekend!  In meantime, I just had to take a whiff and boy does it smell amazing – just like fresh, sweet coconuts!

Suntegrity Vanish Organic Cleansing Oil Makeup & Sunscreen Remover review 008

Suntegrity Vanish Organic Cleansing Oil Makeup & Sunscreen Remover (Travel size, Value: $8) – This I actually got a sample of back in my Petit Vour for April.  It’s a very rich cleansing oil, formulated with a blend of green tea, jojoba seed oil, sunflower seed oil, rosehips extract, and echinacea extract that not only removes makeup, but also nourishes the skin with lots of nutrients.  I’ve used it quite a few times since then, and everything time, it dissolved my eye makeup and other tough-to-remove products within seconds.  It also leaves my skin hydrated and doubles as a moisturizer.

The one downside, however, is that it’s quite oily and not the easiest to remove completely.  I have to use another cleanser if I’m using this pre-makeup (especially if I’m applying mineral powders afterwards), so it’s not always the best for morning cleanses.  But after a day at the beach when you want to remove makeup, sunscreen, and other gunk and plan to go makeup-free, it’s great!  I also love the ingredients list and how non-drying it is around the eye area!

NKD Skin Gradual Glow Daily Tan Moisturizer review 007

NKD Skin Gradual Glow Daily Tan Moisturizer (Deluxe size, Value: $2.99) –  I tried NKD’s tanners in the past (you can read my review here) and loved them!  All of their formulas use a natural, organic, and ecocert version of dihydroxyacetone (DHA), along with other natural and organic ingredients like aloe and shea butter.  They also function as lightweight moisturizers and absorb quickly without leaving behind a greasy, oily, or sticky residue on the skin like other self-tanners often do.  Plus, they don’t smell like, well, anything!  They’re fragrance-free, but amazingly, they don’t smell like tanner either!

Elate Cosmetics Universal Crème in 'Wonder' review 08

*Elate Cosmetics Universal Crème in ‘Wonder’ (Full size, Value: $29) – Elate Cosmetics is still somewhat of an underground natural beauty brand. I’ve only ever come across them in other subscription boxes, and am really surprised I don’t see more of them on Instagram and beauty blogs. In my opinion, they deserve more attention!  They’re products are on par, if not better than some of the cult favorites in the natural beauty realm.  Take their highlighters for example – I actually like them better than RMS Beauty’s luminizers.  They’re not quite as oily or slippery, nor are they as glossy, so they last longer and also look more natural (on me at least!).

They also have quite a few shades, including ‘Wonder’ and ‘Lucent’. (I received ‘Lucent’ in a previous Goodbeing box, and ‘Wonder’ in this month’s box).  Both are gorgeous!  Below is a swatch of ‘Wonder’, a soft, slightly rosy champagne.

Also available at Petit Vour & Elate Cosmetics
