Review | W3LL PEOPLE Bio Brightener Stick

w3ll people bio brightener stick review 000

I absolutely love luminizers and highlighters – my favorites are spread across drugstore, luxury, and green beauty bands.  One I’m been wearing quite a bit lately is the W3ll People Bio Brightener Stick.  I picked up a sample from The Detox Market (as part of their sample kits), which lasted me a good week or so, and now I’m tempted to buy the full size, here’s why…

W3LL PEOPLE Bio Brightener Stick Review

The W3ll People Bio Brightener Stick in ‘Moonstone’ is unlike anything I currently have in my collection.  It features silvery micro-shimmer over a muted pinky-beige base that makes it the perfect in-between neutral shade – I imagine it would work well for all skin tones. The creamy texture settles to a satin finish on the skin that adds glow through a pinky-beige tint, a touch of silver shimmer, and hydrating, skin-loving oils.  The end result?  An ethereal yet sophisticated glow that you can really play with, building from subtle to radiant.

The extra bonus of using a green and organic product is that it doubles as skincare, with ingredients like green tea, olive oil and aloe extract that help hydrate, heal, and renew skin as you wear it.  It’s also free from fragrances, parabens, gluten, phthalates, sulfates, lead, mineral oil, talc, and other sometimes harmful chemicals.

Here’s the full ingredients list (according to W3LL PEOPLE’s website):

Tri-Isostearyl Citrate, Caprylic/Capric Triglyceride, Cera Alba (Beeswax), Acacia Decurrens/Jojoba/Sunflower Seed Wax/Polyglyceryl-3 Esters, Hydrolyzed Jojoba Proteins, Silica Silylate, Ricinus Communis (Castor) Seed Oil, Tocopherol, Olea Europaea (Olive) Fruit Oil, Carthamus Tinctorius, Camellia Sinensis Seed (Green Tea) Oil*, Aloe Barbadensis (Oil) Leaf Extract, Synthetic Fluorphlogopite [+/-: Mica (CI 77019), Iron Oxides (CI 77491, 77492, 77499),  Titanium Dioxide (CI 77891)] *USDA Organic

From a more personal perspective, the W3LL PEOPLE Bio Brightener Stick satisfies the makeup minimalist in me – the stick packaging allows for a quick and effortless application.  It’s as easy as dabbing a bit on your cheeks and then blending out with your fingers – takes literally 10 seconds!

On top of that, the Bio Brightener Stick has the ability to completely elevate an otherwise simple everyday look.  On foundation-free days especially, I’ll apply this with a somewhat heavier handed, then I’ll finish with a little eyeliner, mascara, concealer, and cream blush, and I’m all set.

Most impressively, even in the most unfriendly ‘skin-uations’ (I’m talking on hot, humid days over top my combo/oily skin), the W3LL PEOPLE Bio Brightener Stick stays put.  The formula is neither dry/chalky nor oily/slippery (like RMS Beauty’s luminizers with their coconut oil base).  On my skin, it feels weightless and non-greasy, and doesn’t slide around.  In fact, it actually works to absorb excess oil, which in the end, provides me a good 10+ hours of wear.
