Check out these beauties! All 20 shades are part of Urban Decay’s new and improved lip gloss collection, aka their Hi-Fi Shine Ultra Cushion Lip Glosses…
Urban Decay Hi-Fi Shine Ultra Cushion Lip Gloss
The new Hi-Fi Shine Ultra Cushion Lip Glosses are designed to add a sexy dose of shine to the lips. But unlike the average gloss, they’re formulated to actually feel good on the lips (think lightweight, cushiony, and non-sticky!) and last past your first cup of coffee in the morning.
Infused with vitamin E and peppermint oil, they also help nourish and hydrate the lips, and provide an instant plumping effect. Talk about multi-tasking!
“Finally, a gloss that is sexy and comfy at the same time! Hi-Fi Shine Lip Gloss delivers ultra-shiny color that won’t feather or bleed and instantly makes lips look plumper. Our shade range is stacked with sheer, sparkly and pigment-rich options to amp up your look.”
Whether you’re looking to go bold, or soft and subtle, there’s something for everyone in the collection – from bright corals and vivid purples and pinks, to soft pinks, nudes, and creamy neutrals. They also come in four different effects – metallic, holographic, cream and sheer cream. Here’s a look at all 20 shades, starting with the shimmery ones…

A Few of My Personal Favorites…
Shown above are lip swatches of my personal favorite shades in the collection, including two holographic shades – SPL and Snapped – which are just plain fun to wear for a night out! SPL I find especially gorgeous and ethereal-looking, with its mix of pink and blue shimmer in a base of sheer soft pink.
Another fun shade is Goldmine, which coats the lips in a dramatic dose of gold glitter. It’s the perfect topper over a warm-toned lipstick, but also works well just on its own.
When it comes to more everyday-wearable shades that offer impressive color payoff, Backtalk and Beso are my absolute favorites. On my skintone (~NC25 in MAC, light/medium with neutral tones), they add a little extra pop for a ‘my-lip-but-better’ look. Though the swatches appear very similar, Backtalk is a bit cooler and more mauvy, while Beso is slightly warmer with deeper pink tones.
And when I want to add just a little extra drama, Jawbreaker is the perfect classic purple. (While those who love warmer bold shades will love Snitch!)
Wearing Urban Decay Hi-Fi Shine Gloss in Rapture
If you’re looking for something a bit more subtle, there are several lighter, sheerer neutrals in the collection as well – Naked, Obsessed, and Fuel (especially for deeper skintones) are all gorgeous and worth checking out. My personal favorite is Rapture, a very sheer cream gloss that adds shine and just a hint of warm pink color.
Urban Decay Hi-Fi Shine Ultra Cushion Lip Gloss Review
According to Urban Decay’s founder Wende Zomnir, the Hi-Fi Shine Lip Glosses are designed to be “sexy and comfy at the same time”, and I’d say they’re exactly that.
They’re sexy in they add a healthy dose of high-gloss shine and a touch of extra volume. And they’re comfy in that they glide on super smooth and wrap lips in a cushiony, non-sticky layer of hydration.
If you’re looking to add a touch of color, the cream finishes also offer impressive pigmentation – a majority of which reach near full coverage after two coats (like Backtalk, which you can see above). Or you can sheer them out a bit by applying just the one coat (like Beso and Jawbreaker above).
Another bonus? Because the lip glosses aren’t tacky, they last for hours on me, rather than fading after a short 20-30 minutes like so many others I’ve tried. The cream finishes in particular keep my lips coated in color for a good 2-3 hours.
To top it off, the lip glosses smell amazing with a mix of warm vanilla and mint. They do contain peppermint oil to plump the lips, however the tingling effect is very subtle and not at all bothersome (nothing like the intense, numbing tingling of Buxom’s lip plumping glosses).
In my mind, Urban Decay has created the perfect lip gloss – one that will convert even the lip gloss haters!
