Rocksbox Jewelry Unboxing & Review – May 2016

rocksbox may 2016 review

Spring is here!  It’s my favorite time of year when it comes to creating cute, effortless looks.  I personally love to grab a basic tee, dress it up with some cute earrings or a bold statement necklace, and head out!  And just in time, my latest Rocksbox arrived with a few new pieces for me to experiment with this month – check ’em out!

My Rocksbox for this month came with a gorgeous, gold-green coordinated set.  The pieces ranged from a pair of sophisticated statement earrings (from one of my favorite jewelry designers, Kendra Scott), a chunky Egyptian-inspired necklace, and a delicate stone bracelet.  Here’s the full rundown of the pieces:

Overall, my (35th!) box came packed with some great pieces – a few classics, along with one more unique, trendy piece.  While the House of Harlow 1960 Sierra Collar Necklace took me out of my comfort zone a bit (which is always good!), I wasn’t particularly crazy about the quality, especially for the price ($98).  It personally love their bangles – they hug my small wrists and feature abstract, bohemian styles that I adore.  And while the necklace was just as well-made, something about it made it look slightly cheap (the coating honestly reminded me a bit of those gold wrappers you see around candy bars…hah). Otherwise, the two gold/green combo pieces were great quality and fun to pair together.  And as expected, getting to try out those Kendra Scott earrings from my wishlist only further fueled my addiction to her jewelry – I have a wishlist comprised of 3 ‘Dani’ earrings (which are slightly smaller in size than the ‘Elle’ earrings I received) in various jewel tones.  I’m just waiting for the right time to click ‘Buy’! 🙂
