Going Brighter
Now that Summer is in full swing, I decided it was time to embrace a softer look by taking my hair one shade lighter. Starting with the Visibly Brighter™ Shampoo and Visibly Brighter™ Conditioner, this duo works as you cleanse and condition to gradually brighten hair with more golden tones. The coloring effects are subtle and natural looking since it adjusts tones based on your current hair color. You need to use the duo between 3-5 times to see an effect, however, if you’re looking for a quicker change, you can also incorporate the Brilliant Brunette® Visibly Brighter™ Treatment into your routine. The Coloring Process
The entire process is quick and easy. You simply replace your regular shampoo and/or conditioner with the Visibly Brighter™ Shampoo, Visibly Brighter™ Conditioner, or both. I’ve been using them together and find that they gradually brighten with every wash. The Visibly Brighter™ Treatment speeds up the process a bit and can be used pre-shampoo and conditioner. Unlike other at-home treatments, this one isn’t messy – you can skip the gloves, mixing, and time consuming waiting process.
After I completed my first Visibly Brighter™ treatment, and finished off with the Visibly Brighter™ Shampoo and Visibly Brighter™ Conditioner, my hair looked about a half to one full shade lighter. The change was subtle, but noticeable. It looked like I had naturally lightened with the sun, and even gained some extra dimension and highlights. The best part was that my hair color maintained its neutral, somewhat ashy tones, with no orange or brassiness in sight.

Summer Hair: High Ponytail with Mini Bump
Summer, beachy waves and texturized, ‘intentionally messy’ looks are on trend. When it comes to a minimal hair look, I personally love the effortlessness of a somewhat messy high ponytail. The style helps keep my hair up and out of the face – making it perfect for a hot Summer day or windy day at the beach. I also like to throw in a mini bump to keep bangs back as well, which also add a bit of extra flair. The whole look only takes about 2 minutes to do, and it doesn’t have to be perfect to look cute! Here are the steps:
- Grab your hair and pull it high up on the crown of your head
- Wrap a tight ponytail around your hair. The key here is to make it tight enough that it will hold throughout the day.
- Pinch some of the hair found at the very top of your ponytail. Slowly and gently start pulling it up and out from underneath the hair tie. Continue doing this until you get about a 1-2 inch ‘mini’ bump (see the before and after).
- Separate out about a 1/4 inch thick group of hair from underneath your ponytail.
- Wrap it around the hair tie to conceal it, and then secure the ends with a bobby pin tight under your ponytail. Then you’re done!
