Love Goodly December 2020/January 2021 Review
Evio Beauty Mascara (Full size, $19) – I love trying out new clean mascaras. My current favorite from 100% Pure has been my go-to for about a year now. I haven’t been able to find a comparable clean/non-toxic mascara since, and I’ve tried quite a few. This one, however, may just be my second favorite.
While it does take some time to build up (you really have to press the brush into the base of the lashes, and apply multiple coats), the end result is a naturally lifted, defined, and lengthened lash look, in an intense black. I also love that the formula doesn’t clump or dry hard or crunchy. Plus, it’s made with hemp seed oil, which nourishes and helps to reduce damage to the lash follicles. It’s one of those products that I see as both makeup and skincare/lash care, and one that I don’t mind falling asleep in!
Professor Herb UK Mandarin, Basil, and Lime Night Cream (Full size, $24.50) – A hydrating night cream is #1 in my winter skincare essentials list. It helps to lock in moisture during those long, often dry nighttime hours while we’re catching zzz’s. Even better if it contains reparative and replenishing ingredients, like this one here – on top of increasing hydration, this cream renews cells, protects against free radicals, boosts skin’s collagen, restores elasticity, and evens out the complexion.
The consistency is between that of a cream and a gel, which I really like. It feels refreshing and lightweight, spreads out easily and absorbs quickly, and doesn’t leave behind any (potentially pore-clogging) residue. It makes my skin feel instantly hydrated and silky smooth. I’m very much looking forward to incorporating this into my nighttime routine to see if I notice any long-term effects!
Delia Organics Eye Dare You (Full size, $25.99) – I’ve seen Delia Organics pop up a couple of times in previous Love Goodly boxes. Last year around this time, they featured their oil-rich Lip Nectar, while this month, they’ve included a little something to treat the delicate eye area. Similar to the Lip Nectar, this eye serum has a super simple ingredients profile, and consists of a blend of soothing and nourishing oils. Overtime, it helps to hydrate the eye area and also brighten.
I personally find it to be lightweight and fast-absorbing, and perfect for mornings and pre-makeup. The roll-on applicator makes it quick and easy to apply before dozing off too. I’ll even dab a little onto my lips – the oil blend makes them instantly soft and smooth!
Zatik Orange and Tea Tree Hand Sanitizer (2 Fl. Oz., $8) – Lastly, the folks at Love Goodly included this purse-friendly wellness essential. The moisturizing gel formula helps to kill germs and bacteria between running errands. It also helps keep hands smooth and hydrated thanks to organic aloe, plus sweet orange and tea tree oils.
I love that it absorbs in seconds, and leaves my hands feeling super soft and smooth, sans any sticky or greasy residue-free (huge plus!). While this may not be the most exciting item to come in a beauty box, I’m very happy to have discovered this little bottle, and plan to replace all my sticky, slow-drying sanitizers with it!
Love Goodly December 2020/January 2021 VIP Box
The VIP box comes with everything included in the Essential box, along with one extra full-sized goodie. This month, the folks at Love Goodly selected a multi-purpose makeup palette, for that extra touch of glow during the winter months.
Nude & Noir Bijou Palette (Full size, $36) – This palette is packed with four cream colors, each made with coconut oil to help nourish skin. They can be applied wherever you choose – on the eyes, cheeks, brow bone, and more. All shades – with the exception of Jasper, the bottom pink shade – contain micro shimmer. This adds color plus a subtle glow, without looking too over-the-top or glittery (definitely office-friendly!). The three shades have the same texture as well – they require some warming up with the fingers, but then apply smoothly and evenly, and actually stay put (I did notice some creasing on the eyes, but a little eye primer helped with that). Jasper, on the other hand, is on the creamier side. For that reason, it works particularly well on the lips and cheeks.
Oh, and the best part? You can mix shades together to create custom blushes, bronzers, highlighters and eye shadows! I love to mix Diamond (top white) + Jasper (bottom pink) to create a beautiful glowy-pink, all-over cheek color. Jasper + Amber (top shimmery red/brown) also combine to create a bronzy blush, which I’m wearing in the photo a little further down.
