With the holiday festivities coming up quick, our schedules (and bodies) are about to start working overtime!  From holiday shopping, event planning, end-of-year work wrap-ups, and holiday parties, now more than ever we need to make sure we’re getting all the essential nutrients so we can look and feel good.

Fruit and veggie smoothies are probably the easiest way to get all those anti-oxidants and essential vitamins.  On days when I’m slacking in the health department, I will literally grab 3-4 fruits and vegetables from my fridge, stuff them in my Ninja blender til it reaches the top, add in some milk and other protein boosters, blend, then drink – it’s just too easy!

When wintertime rolls around, that’s when I make it a point to drink a smoothie everyday, to help me stay healthy, energized, and feeling good.  It’s also a time of the year when I like to kick mine up a notch with Emergen-C Immune+, for an extra boost of vitamin C, zinc, and manganese, plus 7 B-vitamins.  There are over Emergen-C 20 fizzy flavors to choose from, making for endless smoothie combinations and pairings with all your favorite fruits and veggies.

Here are three tasty smoothies that incorporate the refreshing citrus flavor of Emergen-C Super Orange.  Drink these in the mornings, pre- or post-workout, or for a snack whenever you need a healthy kick!

Veggie Kick | Spinach & Carrot Smoothie

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup spinach
  • 1 medium carrot, or 1/2 cup baby carrots
  • 1 medium banana
  • 1 1/2 cup of almond milk
  • 2 teaspoons of honey
  • 1/2 packet Emergen-C

Start by cutting the banana and carrot into small pieces so they are easier to blend. Add the spinach, carrot, banana, and milk into the blender and blend. Add more milk to make the smoothie less thick.  Finally, add in the Emergen-C and blend to release the fizzies!
