What’s in My Bag? | My Everyday Essentials

whats-in-my-bag-(1-of-1)

A purse is like a little home away from home.  That’s why I like to stock mine with the essentials (phone, wallet, keys, etc) along with some extras to help boost my confidence and keep me feeling healthy throughout the day.  When I go out for an all-day outing, or to the office, I like to come prepared – like having a good book while I’m waiting at the doctor’s office, some Vitamin C packed tablets when I feel a cold coming on, or makeup for a quick refresh.

Here’s everything I pack inside my go-to everyday bag:

First up – the electronics.  We sometimes find ourselves in need of a distraction here and there.  For me, I like to bring my Kindle along so I can catch up on the latest paranormal fantasy historical adventure romance novel (hehe)…or maybe something by Jane Austen – it really depends on my mood. 😉  My cell phone and some headphones are some other essentials that I carry with me at all times – the phone for calls/texts/emails of course, but also for music, and the headphones to listen to my favorite tunes whenever I need a boost throughout the day.

emergenc-and-centrumNext up are my little essentials to help me feeling extra confident and healthy.  I keep some Emergen-C Immune+ Chewables with me at all times (the yellow tablets).  They taste amazing (like orange candies!) and give my body a boost of immune support.  I also carry Centrum VitaMints, which are adult multivitamins with a refreshingly minty taste you can take/enjoy any time of day with or without food or water.  They’re a fun way to take your vitamins during the day, plus they double as mints to freshen your breath.  Third in my little ‘health kit’ is an Advil Tablet Vial, which are the the perfect size for your purse.  You can use Advil tablets for headaches, minor arthritis and other joint pain, muscle aches and pains of the common cold.  I’ll typically stock up on these products every few months at Walmart, which sells pretty much everything I need in and around their Pharmacy and Travel sections.

This is my little cosmetic bag. It’s where I keep all my makeup for touch-ups, including a mirror, eyeliner, mascara, lipstick, concealer, body lotion, a nail polish remover pad, and probably my most essential item – ChapStick Total Hydration lip balm.  It’s 100% natural, and it instantly smooths and moisturizes my lips!  Especially in the colder/dryer months, I can’t live without this – it keeps my lips looking and feeling good, with makes me all the more confident when I’m chatting with people, smiling/laughing, or simply just sitting at my desk working hard.

And finally, I carry my favorite wallet, sunnies, plus some extras including a brush (it’s amazing what a quick hair brushing can do mid-day when you’re at the office, to smooth and bring some volume back to your hair!).  I also bring with me my favorite perfume (which is currently my new scent from Scentbird), which works as a quick mood booster.

I hope you enjoyed getting a peak inside my bag. 🙂   As you can tell, I try to load it with as many things as I can that help me feel confident and happy as I go about my day.  I find it’s always better to be prepared with the little things.  Being able to open up my purse and grab exactly what I need to feel good in that moment is definitely worth it!
